Deborah Culhane is a qualified secondary school teacher and has worked as a freelance journalist in the print and broadcasting media for 6 years.

Native of North Kerry, Deborah attended the Presentation School Listowel and studied at University College Cork for 10 years.

As a journalist she worked as a researcher and a broadcasting reporter with RTE Radio & Television for several years.

She has published with the Sunday Times, Irish Independent, Irish Examiner, Irish Times, Evening Echo and other publications.

She has written features on a wide range of political, social and economic topics as well as covering criminal cases in the Circuit and District Courts. She has also worked as News Editor with County Sound 103FM and as a reporter with 96FM.

She has facilitated Creative Writing workshops in Cork City for 7 years now with huge success.

She enjoys dance, walking and swimming.
